The village pub at the heart of West Ashling

The Richmond Arms is an independently owned, food-centred pub and restaurant with accommodation, set in the beautiful duck pond village of West Ashling. Under new ownership with a dynamic local team, our newly refurbished Richmond Bar is a true village focal point: somewhere to drop by for a pint or a glass of wine, where the service is warm and friendly, with dog friendly areas throughout.

Close by you will find the cities of Chichester and Portsmouth, the Goodwood Estate, the ancient yews of Kingley Vale, the harbourside village of Bosham and the golden sands of West Wittering.

Whether it is lunch after a walk on the Downs, dinner in the restaurant or a night or two in our rooms, we look forward to meeting you soon.

Quality roasts, done properly

Every Sunday lunchtime the restaurant adds quality roasts to the menu, all served with Yorkshire pudding, dripping roast potatoes, roasted carrot and parsnip, red cabbage, lemon and herb stuffing, pigs in blankets, seasonal greens and cauliflower cheese.

A short, seasonal set menu alongside the main menu, with the likes of leek vinaigrette and anchovies, chicken schnitzel and green salad, and peach melba to finish.

Monday Nights

Pizza night

On Monday evenings we partner with a wood-fired pizza van for quality, freshly prepared pizza, served 5.30pm to 9pm. Enjoy it with us in the pub or take it away.

In the Bar

Bar bites and sandwiches

Halloumi bites, whitebait with tartar sauce, chicken strips with aioli, and sandwiches on white or brown artisan bread, served 12 to 5. A wine list devised to pair with the menu, and a great line up of lagers, ales, cider and stout.

What better way to relax and unwind than a night or two in our tranquil village? Both rooms are elegantly styled in a classic yet contemporary country style, with king size beds and beautiful en-suite bathrooms.

A luxury double bedroom with king size bed, period fireplaces and en-suite bathroom.

In both rooms: flat screen TV, DVD player, tea and coffee tray, Egyptian cotton sheets, bathroom products, mineral water and blackout blinds, with a choice of breakfast and rooms available to book all week. Seasonal variations apply, and Goodwood dates carry a two night minimum.
